Tips for Budapest in 3 days
You can't understand Budapest without its thermal baths: book the Szechenyi and go first thing or at night, when the atmosphere is magical. The city is split in two by the Danube: Buda for the views from the castle and the Fisherman's Bastion, Pest for the Parliament (book the guided tour, it sells out). Cross the Chain Bridge on foot at least once. A cruise at sunset is the best photo of the city and it comes cheap. And since Hungary isn't pricey, make the most of it and eat well away from the tourist streets.
